Chicago Math and Science Academy's robotics team heads to world championships

A robotics team from Chicago Math and Science Academy competes in world championship.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- High school students from Chicago Math and Science Academy are competing at the FIRST Tech Challenge World Championship for the first time ever.

The "RoboTitans Team #7006" are one of only five teams from Illinois to compete, and the only public charter school advancing to the competition. The students spent countless hours preparing and adjusting their robot creation. The World Championship is the final FTC tournament of the season.

One hundred and twenty-eight teams from around the world will compete in St. Louis for the honor of being the world's best.
