Man saves family, slab of ribs in apt. fire

FRESNO, Ca. -- A California man rescued his family from an apartment fire then he went back for what he was cooking.

He also saved a slab of ribs from going up in flames too.

"I got my kids first, first thing I got my kids, and I thought about my ribs. And, I thought I didn't want to let my ribs burn and stuff because I take pride in what I do. It was 3:00 a.m. and I was hungry." said Robert Wright of Fresno.

He says he was barbecuing when he noticed the fire next door.

He got his kids and then ran back to get his ribs.
