Metra to provide extra service for Lollapalooza

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Metra will provide extra service to accommodate music fans heading to Lollapalooza next weekend.

Metra officials said from Friday through Sunday, extra trains with more space for passengers will run on an adjusted schedule on eight lines: BNSF, Rock Island, Metra Electric, MD-North, MD-West, UP-North, UP-Northwest and UP-West.

A special $10 pass for the three-day event can be purchased at Metra stations and on Metra trains starting at 9:30 a.m. Friday.

Metra officials remind riders that alcoholic drinks and glass containers will be prohibited on trains after 7 p.m. Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday.
