Law enforcement bulletin warns CPD officers of organized targeting by gangs

WASHINGTON (WLS) -- A nation-wide law enforcement bulletin from the U.S. Department of Justice's National Gang Intelligence Center is warning Chicago police officers that they could be targeted by gang members.

The warning says general anger towards police could be growing into organized efforts to target officers, especially from street gang members looking for revenge.

The bulletin notes high-ranking members of a Chicago street gang who recently expressed a serious desire to kill a federal law enforcement agent.
