Aerial views show tornado destruction, community rebuilding

WASHINGTON, Ill. (WLS) -- From the air a year after the disaster there is plenty to confirm that much work has been done, yet so much more beckons.

A year ago hundreds of bewildered apartment dwellers begged to get back into their units to salvage what they could. Now, all but one of those buildings is gone.

Where they stood, about where the tornado touched down, remains the starting point from the air to see how the furious assault is still etched into the land.
