CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police said they are draining the Marquette Park lagoon to search for the body of a missing Georgia woman.

Laneesha Miller, 28, was reported missing on June 27. Chicago police have been looking for the missing mother of two for over two weeks, but just began searching the lagoon on Tuesday night.

A tip led investigators to the Marquette Park lagoon, which runs all around the perimeter of one of Chicago's largest parks. Police began coordinating plans to search the lagoon last week, but the shallow, murky water would not be a dive operation.

Instead, police are having the lagoon drained as they search the area, which is expected to take days.

Miller's family did not wish to comment on the investigation. A family friend said Miller's two daughters are aware she is missing.
