BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. (WLS) -- An 85-year-old woman and an 80-year-old man were killed in a crash in southwest suburban Bridgeview. Several others were injured in the collision.
Police said a Chrysler minivan heading south on Harlem Avenue lost control, went over the median and struck a car near West 96th Street around 3 p.m. Sunday.
Six people were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center. Some of them were children.
The Cook County medical examiner confirmed two deaths on Sunday, but the victims' names have not been released.
Harlem Avenue was closed to traffic for about five hours as accident reconstruction experts conducted their investigation.
Bridgeview police are looking into the cause of the crash.
