Sketch released in Little Village child sex assault
Chicago police have released a sketch as they search for the suspect who sexually assaulted a seven-year-old boy.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police have released a sketch as they search for the suspect who sexually assaulted a child in the restroom of a restaurant in Chicago's Little Village neighborhood.

Chicago police say the victim was eating dinner with his family on Saturday at the Great China Buffet in the 2500 block of West Cermak. The seven-year-old boy was sexually assaulted when he went to use the bathroom. The bathroom in the back of the restaurant is separated from the dining room by a large buffet area.

"We just heard about the image that came out, the sketch, so we hope they catch the guy fast," said Jose Barajas, restaurant employee.

Police said the suspect is a Hispanic male with a mustache between 25 and 40 years old. He has tattoos on both his arms. One tattoo is described as a knife with two lines underneath and the word "que," and another tattoo is of an animal, possibly a dog. He was said to be wearing a black baseball cap and a blue or green long sleeve shirt with rolled up sleeves. He fled in a small, green vehicle.

Police are urging parents to accompany their children to the bathroom at all times and to be alert for strangers or suspicious vehicles.

"We have to keep going into the bathrooms to make sure something like that doesn't happen again. Because if something like that happens again, it's going to be messed up in the neighborhood," said Barajas.

If you have any information about this incident, police ask that you call the Special Investigations Unit Detectives at 312-492-3810.
