Lollapalooza wraps up in Grant Park
Periodic rain showers may have deterred some crowds, but others stuck around for Lollapalooza's final day in Grant Park.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Periodic rain showers may have deterred some crowds, but others stuck around for Lollapalooza's final day in Grant Park.

"It's a little rainy, but it's still fun," said Alyssa Steffen, a Lollapalooza attendee. "My new shoes got all muddy already but that's okay, I'll wash them later."

Many sought shelter from the rain between the acts while others gave into it, dancing and playing in the mud.

"It's my first time at Lollapalooza so I'm just soaking it all in and having a good time," said Miles Kelley, a Lollapalooza attendee.

Some even opted to go without shoes.

"You've gotta go into it, you can't just wear shoes and try to tip-toe around the dirt," said Nick Langan, a Lollapalooza attendee. "Gotta get into it, get your feet dirty and have a great time."

"It's my first time at Lolla and I absolutely love it, it's awesome," said Kaitlyn Cherba, a Lollapalooza attendee. "Even with the weather, it keeps us cool, I love it."

Although many embraced the weather, it caused a much larger problem in 2011 when heavy downpours turned most of Hutchison Field into a mud pit. Damage from the rains eventually cost more than $1 million to repair. Fortunately, it's a cost paid for by the production company in charge of the festival, not the city.

Sunday night's closing acts were Kings of Leon, Skrillex, Chance the Rapper and DARKSIDE.

Some streets near Grant Park were closed Sunday evening as crowds left the final concerts.
