CHICAGO (WLS) -- The fourth annual 5K RUN! To End Homelessness in Douglas Park on July 13 raises funds for those who have fallen on hard times and find themselves without a roof over their heads. This year's event focuses on homeless veterans with the inaugural "Veteran Stand Down" part of the event.

ABC7 is a media sponsor of the run, and reporter John Garcia is participating. During our Sunday morning news, he interviewed Neli Vazquez-Rowland, president and co-founder of A Safe Haven, and Brian Rowland, CEO and co-founder of A Safe Haven.
